Revised and tested several options, the conclusion is to use shaarli.
Shaarli Material is a theme for Shaarli, the famous personal, minimalist, super-fast, database free, bookmarking service.
Marker is a command bookmark manager for the console. The tool lets you bookmark commands and command templates, and easily retrieve them using a real-time fuzzy matcher.
The tool is useful to remember commands used previously, which is like going through your Bash history but better since you can add descriptions for each bookmark (and add placeholders), as well as to save some commands you come across, for future use. Your command bookmarks are saved in a text file located in ~/.local/share/marker/.
Marker features include:
A Python 3 Command-Line Interface to interact with a Shaarli instance.
Shaarlier - Simple Android app for sharing links on Shaarli.
Bookie - Python based delicious.com replacement
Firefox uses a new manager for bookmarks. Bookmarks are no more stored in the bookmarks.html file (in the directory of your Firefox profile), but in a SQLite database (places.sqlite). If the performance is much better, you can not read this file...
A python script to back up all the bookmarks(firefox compatible). It returns a dictionary with url as key and (title, tag, add_date, modified_date) tuple as the value. It also stores it in gdbm. Another script is provided to read all the bookmarks. - Gist is a simple way to share snippets of text and code with others.
Shaarli is a minimalist application in PHP, developed by SebSauvage, designed to help you share links (hence the name).
It’s personal (single-user), fast and handy.
This page provides links to a non-exhaustive list of some shaarli, a collection of RSS feeds for some shaarli, and a collection of RSS feeds for some shaarli, with discussion’s fusion.
Python script to parse bookmarks exported from ffox in JSON format in the html format used by emacs-w3m, optionally merging with an existing emacs-w3m bookmark file. Note that nested folders in the fffox bookmarks are flattened, as emacs-w3m bookmark categories are all on one level.
Will cope with the current (Nov 2009) bug in ffox which exports badly formed JSON, but if other parse errors occur run the JSON through a validator.
